Cross Age Tutoring

This is the 29th year for the Cross Age Tutoring Program!  The Program exists to enhance academic and personal growth in teens and elementary students.  We recruit, train, and support volunteer teens to tutor children in grades one through three.

Cross Age Tutoring Program
This year, LCA's Cross Age Tutoring Program will offer a three week session in June and a three week session in July.  Each session will focus on critical thinking and skills building, both for the students and their tutors.  Youth between the ages of 14 and 18 are invited to apply to participate in this summer's program as tutors.  Tutors and students will meet on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 9am-12pm each day and work with a structured curriculum.

Why Tutor?
We are looking for volunteer tutors who are interested in developing leadership skills, gaining work experience, learning to build a cooperative team and helping a first through third grader increase foundation skills.  Tutoring provides great experience for your resume. If you are motivated, like to work with young children, and have strong academic skills, please consider volunteering at LCA.

We are currently accepting applications for summer Cross Age tutors in the form of a resume and cover letter.  Please click the link for more detailed information.
