Where do you get your funding?
The LCA has diversified funding. Our current budget sources from highest are as follows: Forget-Me-Not Used Books, United Way and local contributions, earned income, State and Federal Grants, and Fundraisers.
How can I be sure you are investing my support wisely?
The Literacy Council of Alaska is service over 3,400 Alaskans every year, changing lives through literacy. LCA has a history of fiscal responsibility and has been audited or reviewed every year since 1990 (Tax ID # is 92-6010100, Alaska Non-Profit # 12851). LCA has no debt and 3 months operating reserves. We have a stong Board of Directors, a dedicated staff, and over 300 volunteers donating over 15,000 hours annually!
Is my gift tax deductible?
Yes. The Literacy Council of Alaska is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, Tax ID# 92-6010100.
Will I receive a receipt?
Yes. You will receive at least one receipt per year for your support for tax purposes.

LCA administrative overhead and fundraising expenses are 14% of our total budget of approximately $500,000.
