Where do you get your funding?
The LCA has diversified funding. Our current budget sources are as follows:  32% federal Even Start, 20% LCA used bookstore, 12% United Way, 11% private contributions, 10% fundraisers, 8% State of Alaska Grants, 7% Contracts for Services.

How can I be sure you are investing my support wisely?
LCA has a history of fiscal responsibility and has been audited or reviewed every year since 1990 (Tax ID # is 92-6010100, Alaska Non-Profit # 12851).  LCA has no debt.

What is my donation used for?
All donations will go where most needed at the Literacy Council, unless you specifically say otherwise.

Is my gift tax deductible?
Yes. The Literacy Council of Alaska is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, Tax ID# 92-6010100.

Will I receive a receipt?
Yes. You will receive at least one receipt per year for your support for tax purposes.

We would love to talk to you about your planned giving options! To learn more about your options, call the LCA at 907-456-6212 or stop in at 517 Gaffney Road in Fairbanks.

How much money goes to the administration overhead and fundraising of the LCA?
LCA administrative overhead and fundraising expenses are 14% of our total budget of approximately $320,000.

How is LCA governed?
LCA is governed by an independent, unpaid, Board of Directors.
