School Age Coordinator
Open 8/1/2010 until filled.
Job Summary
This position is responsible for coordinating services provided for school age children. The position supervises program staff; develops, coordinates and assesses programs. The position also coordinates with the school district and agencies involved with school age and family literacy programs. The School-Age Literacy Coordinator supervises the AmeriCorps Volunteer(s), part-time summer instructors and after school program volunteers.
Qualifications
1.
College degree in Education or related field.
2.
Three years experience in program management.
3.
Experience supervising and training staff.
4.
Ability to conduct workshops and speak in public. Including recruitment and public relations.
5.
Background with minority cultures and diverse populations.
6.
Experience with public education and with reading programs and/or family literacy.
7.
Computer expertise including MIS.
8.
Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
9.
Must have transportation, and will be required to move supplies to and from program
Responsibilities
1.
Plan, develop, and coordinate all LCA school based programs.
2.
Provide training, supervision and evaluation of program staff.
3.
Coordinate with other LCA programs through the Lead Instructor, Even Start Coordinator and the Executive Director.
4.
Oversee school based programs including tutor recruitment and training.
5.
Coordinate services with the school district and with other service agencies.
6.
Conduct workshops and make public presentations.
7.
Manage program data including online MIS for quarterly and annual reports.
8.
Co-presenter for Adult Tutor Trainings.
Full Time. Salary Range $30,000/year plus BXBS Health Benefits.
