Our Mission

To promote literacy for people of all ages in Fairbanks and the Interior. Literacy means being able to read, write and speak English and to compute in order to function in today's society.

Our goals are to: (1) help community members achieve individual educational goals, and (2) raise public awareness about literacy.

Our objectives are to: (1) provide student-centered tutoring for adults in reading, writing, math, English as a second language, and computer and other life skills; (2) provide student-centered tutoring for children and educational services for families through colaborative projects; (3) provide additional opportunities for independent and group learning such as English conversation groups, math groups and Computer Literacy Lab; (4) recruit, train, and support volunteers; and (5) provide presentations, trainings, events and advertising for the community concerning literacy issues.
