ELL Tutor Coordinator and Instructor

Job Summary:
This position works with the ELL Class Coordinator to provide English as a Second Language instruction to our students. Responsibilities include teaching classes, supporting volunteer tutors, assisting with student intakes and assessments, data collection, and training volunteers.
Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree preferred.

Experience with English as a Second Language teaching.

Comfortable in cross-cultural settings.

Adept at working independently, as well as with team members.

Hold excellent customer service skills.

Demonstrate effective oral and written communication skills.

Able to organize and prioritize a variety of tasks.

Work with minimal supervision.

Able to coordinate multiple tasks and follow-up in spite of frequent interruptions.

Job Tasks:

Recruit, train, and support volunteer tutors.

Oversee and conduct tutor training events, including both initial training and reoccurring tutor workshops.

Conduct student intakes, assessments, data collection, and student to tutor matches. This includes the ability to travel off-site as necessary for tutor/student meetings.

Teach 1-2 ESL classes per session (6-8 hours/week).

Assist with the coordination of evening classes, with the flexibility to occasionally work evening hours to orient new volunteers and students.

Assist with promotional materials and events in community.

Participate in LCA fundraising events and Annual Volunteer Appreciation Picnic.
